Travis is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist (PSY34901) and has been employed with Focus since September 2022. He is trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing therapy (EMDR) as well as other Evidence Based Protocols for PTSD. He is trained in Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM) and routinely conducts critical incident stress debriefings and defusings.
His theoretical orientation is Cognitive-Behavioral. He specializes in stress, anger, depression, anxiety, addictive behaviors, and trauma.
He is an active element in San Diego Police Department’s Embedded Clinician Program where he spends one day per week with the department’s Wellness Office. While embedded, he works with department personnel and provides timely response required for employees in exigency. To help reduce the stigma of seeking mental / behavioral health services, Travis has presented at numerous Family Wellness Days for both San Diego Police and Fire Departments, and at Orientations for Chula Vista Police Department, Falck, and Alpine Fire Department.
Travis served in the Marine Corps infantry for 21 years, retiring in 2014 after completing multiple combat deployments to both Iraq and Afghanistan.
