Kathleen "Katie" Sevilla, ACSW

Katie is an Associate Clinical Social Worker (ACSW), working under the direct supervision of Lisa Bertelle, license #40984. Katie received her Bachelor’s in Psychology at California State University, San Marcos. Katie received her Master’s in Social Work at the University of Massachusetts, Global. During her graduate program, Katie worked with veterans to facilitate their transition from the military back to civilian life. In addition, Katie counseled adolescents in a Charter high school setting. 

Katie gained much of her clinical experience in an outpatient setting, working with adults in underserved communities, and counseling clients who have moderate to severe mental diagnoses and drug addiction. 

Besides Katie fulfilling her passion for counseling first responders, she also counsels clients in a reproductive mental health setting. Katie helps clients navigate fertility struggles, pregnancy loss, and postpartum challenges. Katie has received special training in Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders (PMAD's).

Her therapeutic background includes working with children, adolescents, adults, and couples facing challenges in their relationship, trauma, grief, anxiety, mood disorders, and personality disorders. 

Katie’s clinical approach offers clients comfort, reassurance, and guidance. She believes in collaborating with clients to make each session personal and impactful, using strength-based practices, cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness, and solution-focused techniques to tailor each session to their specific needs. 

Katie has over a decade of experience living with a veteran and law enforcement officer and knows how this career can affect first responders, their spouses, and their families.
