Amber Curry is an Associate Therapist (ASW) under the supervised of Christine Peng, LCSW, #102479. She has a master’s degree in Social Work from California State University San Marcos and a Bachelor’s in Criminology and Psychology from the University of New Mexico. She has over a decade of experience supporting teens, adults and families in nonprofits, hospitals, inpatient facilities, the Peace Corps, and most recently at San Diego Child Welfare Services.
Her aim is to help children, families and individuals utilize techniques for better communication and an overall positive wellbeing. She wants to empower individuals to manage their anxiety and depression with psychoeducation, crisis stabilization, family collaboration and mindfulness. Thus, resulting in more effective interactions for the individual. She takes a strength based, person centered approach and understand every person has their own unique needs and goals. She will work together with individuals to create a safe space where she can support their growth and provide tools to help them confidently navigate tough obstacles.
Amber’s passion for this field stems from childhood. Both her parents respectfully dedicated their lives to working in helping professions. It is because of their commitment to making change and supporting people, that from a young age, Amber wanted to do the same.
