Kim Sorrell, M.A., LMFT

Kim Sorrell is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and has been working with FOCUS Psychological Services since 2019. She provides individual, couples, and family therapy. Kim is trained in Eye Movement and Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR). She completed a MS in Educational and Instructional Technology in August of 2021. Prior to working for FOCUS, she worked for the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) as a trauma focused therapist at the San Diego Vet Center. She provided individual, couples and group therapy and facilitated a 2.5 day couples retreat 4-6 times a year. Kim worked for the San Diego Sheriff’s Department and then the Coronado Police Department, where she retired in 2012. Prior to Coronado Police Department she served in the Navy and Navy Reserves as an Explosive Ordnance Disposal Technician and retired in 2012 as a Master Chief Petty Officer.
